A blessing for a Happy and Caring New Year
If Covid19 taught us anything is that we are all in this together. Despite all the Health, Social and Economic Hardships as a result of Covid19, there has been a massive response in Innovation and the rise in the concepts of ESG — Environment, Social and Governance in the business world.
Our hope and prayer for 2021 will be a healthy, better, and more caring world. Israel is playing its part in this and transforming from the Startup Nation to the Impact Nation.

In this week’s Torah Portion we see the words Chesed V Emet — Kindness and Truth. The Great Bible Commentator, Rashi brings the explanation that the ultimate Kindness is when the beneficiary does not feel indebted and uses burial of the dead as the ultimate form of Kindness. So, when we adopt the Principles of ESG, It is correct and acceptable that when Investing or doing business you need to make a profit, but embarking on doing it with ESG, do it without making the beneficiary indebted to you.
So, let’s look again at what ESG is:
E- Environment — Care for The Environment to make the world a better place for us and future generations
S- Social — Empower your Employees and the Community to be independent and contributing to society
G-Governance — Do it properly in an integrated way that combines Kindness and Truth
We live in a world in which we do not know how to bless each other. So, let's join the world in wishing all the People a Happy New Year. A Year of Health, Wealth, caring for oneself, family, community, and all those who are less or more fortunate than ourselves. A year of caring.
